Dark Horse Syndicate is where bold ideas are pieced together into worlds, objects, and experiences that refuse to stay ordinary. Through games, stories, jewelry, fashion, and design, we build creations shaped by identity, transformation, mystery, and hope—each one part of something larger still taking form.
Dark Horse Syndicate is currently under construction.
We’re building a new home for our worlds, games, jewelry, design, and future projects. Some sections may be incomplete or change as development continues.Thank you for your patience while we piece everything together. New content, project pages, and updates are coming soon.

Dark Horse Syndicate was created because some ideas are too large to belong to a single medium. What began with stories and games kept becoming something more—books, worlds, jewelry, design, fashion, physical objects, and experiences that could exist beyond the page. Rather than force those ideas into separate boxes, Dark Horse Syndicate became the place where they could grow together. At its heart, the company exists to turn imagination into something real. To build meaningful, unconventional work around identity, transformation, survival, hope, and the belief that creativity can move between worlds—something you can read, play, wear, hold, or become part of.

Meet the FounderMy name is Kayla, and I built Dark Horse Syndicate because I got tired of being told, directly or indirectly, what I was supposed to be capable of.I have spent a lot of my life hearing some version of “no.”No, that idea is too strange.
No, that path is unrealistic.
No, that is not how things are normally done.
No, you should probably make it smaller.
No, you should probably be more practical. At some point, I stopped treating “no” like a verdict.I started treating it like information.Sometimes “no” means the timing is wrong.Sometimes it means the idea needs work.Sometimes it means you are talking to the wrong person. And sometimes it simply means somebody else cannot see what you see yet. That distinction changed everything for me.Dark Horse Syndicate did not begin as some perfectly mapped-out company with departments, product lines, membership tiers, events, games, books, fashion, jewelry, and digital projects. It grew piece by piece. One idea became another. One project exposed a skill I did not know I had. One obstacle forced me to learn something new. One strange concept turned into something real enough that other people started paying attention. And through all of that, I kept coming back to the same question:What happens if I keep going? That question matters to me because my life has involved a lot of transformation. Not the clean, cinematic kind. The messy kind. The kind where you outgrow old versions of yourself. The kind where you have to admit you were wrong about what your future was supposed to look like. The kind where progress sometimes feels less like moving forward and more like rebuilding yourself while everything is still moving. That experience is part of why identity and transformation appear so often in my work. They are not abstract themes to me.They are lived ones.I originally thought my long-term future was going to be fashion design. I wanted to learn latex crafting, leatherworking, apparel construction, and wearable art. That was the path. Then I discovered game design. And suddenly the path split open.I realized I could build worlds.I could design systems.I could create characters, mechanics, stories, and experiences that gave people room to explore choices and consequences for themselves.I had not failed at the original dream.I had discovered a larger one. That realization changed the direction of my entire life.Dark Horse Syndicate is the result of following that change instead of fighting it.I do not want my story told because I think I am special.I want it told because I know there are people out there who are sitting on something they care about and quietly assuming they missed their chance.People who think they are too old to start.Too broke.Too weird.Too inexperienced.Too late.Too far behind.Too different.I want them to hear a story that is still unfinished. Not a polished success story told from a mountaintop.A story from the middle of the climb.Because that is where most people actually live.If hearing how I built Dark Horse Syndicate, changed direction, made mistakes, kept creating, and kept showing up helps somebody give themselves permission to try again, then sharing it matters.Invite Kayla to SpeakI am available for podcasts, convention panels, interviews, community events, business discussions, gaming events, and speaking opportunities.Topics can include creative entrepreneurship, game design, worldbuilding, identity and self-expression, building a company from the ground up, navigating setbacks, changing career direction, and what it means to keep creating when the outcome is still uncertain. If you believe my story would resonate with your audience, I would genuinely like to hear from you.Contact Dark Horse Syndicate to schedule a conversation, interview, panel, or appearance.[email protected]

Our MissionDark Horse Syndicate was built around a simple belief:People deserve the chance to become more than the circumstances they were handed. Our company motto is:Transformation through identity and self-expression.And the three pillars behind everything we build are:Identity. Transformation. Hope. Those ideas shape our games, our stories, our products, our communities, and the way we want this company to grow.Dark Horse Syndicate was never meant to exist only to make games, books, clothing, jewelry, or entertainment. Those things matter. I care deeply about creating them. But they are also the vehicle. The larger goal is to build something capable of helping people.By the year 2032, one of my biggest long-term goals is to support 1,000 food pantries, with the aim of contributing $1,000 to each one. That is a million dollars in direct support if we reach the full goal.It is ambitious. It is supposed to be.Food insecurity is one of those problems that can feel enormous and abstract until you remember that, for the person experiencing it, it is not abstract at all. It is a skipped meal. It is deciding which bill can wait. It is wondering whether the groceries will last until payday. It is parents eating less so their children can eat more.I want Dark Horse Syndicate to grow into a company that can meaningfully help with that. And food pantries are only one part of the mission. As the company grows, I intend to support LGBTQ+ organizations, community programs, people experiencing homelessness, and other individuals and groups who are struggling or have been pushed to the margins. That focus comes directly from the philosophy behind the company.Identity matters.Being allowed to understand yourself matters.Being able to express who you are without fear matters.Having the opportunity to rebuild your life matters. And sometimes transformation has nothing to do with fantasy, fashion, or a character sheet.Sometimes transformation is having enough food to make it through the week.Sometimes it is finding a safe place to sleep.Sometimes it is having a community that tells you there is still a future ahead of you.Sometimes it is simply having someone take you seriously when the rest of the world has already decided who you are supposed to be.That is why hope is one of our pillars.Hope does not mean pretending everything is fine.It means believing that things can become better—and then actually doing something to help move them in that direction. That same philosophy appears throughout the creative work of Dark Horse Syndicate.White Horse explores identity, autonomy, transformation, consequence, and what happens when people are changed by forces around them.GENYSYS grew from self-expression and the idea that what we wear can become part of how we define ourselves.Heart of Kaelora takes symbols and stories and turns them into something physical that can be carried.Different products.Different worlds. The same foundation.I want Dark Horse Syndicate to become proof that a creative company can grow without losing sight of the people around it.Success, to me, is not just selling more books, filling more events, launching more products, or seeing the Dark Horse name become recognizable. Those things are milestones.Success is being able to look back years from now and point to communities that are stronger because this company existed. It is seeing food on shelves that would not have been there otherwise. It is helping organizations that give LGBTQ+ people somewhere safe to turn.It is creating opportunities for people who have been overlooked. It is eventually being in a position to help people experiencing homelessness, struggling families, and anyone else who needs someone willing to give them a real chance.I do not expect Dark Horse Syndicate to solve every problem. But I refuse to use that as an excuse to solve none of them.If we can help one pantry, we help one. Then ten. Then one hundred. Then one thousand. If we can help one person feel seen, supported, fed, safe, or capable of becoming something more, that matters. And if we can build a company large enough to do that again and again? That is the company I want Dark Horse Syndicate to become.Identity gives us a sense of who we are.Transformation gives us the ability to become something more.Hope gives us a reason to keep going. That is what we build around. That is what we want to give back. And that is why we do what we do.

Welcome to LethoniaLethonia is the central world behind White Horse — a strange, dangerous, beautiful place built around identity, agency, consequence, and the uncomfortable realization that appearances rarely tell you the whole truth. It is a world that exists long after the Earth people once knew, shaped by civilizations, creatures, forces, and histories that players are not expected to understand all at once. That is intentional.White Horse was designed around discovery.Players enter Lethonia knowing only what their characters could reasonably know. The world reveals itself through exploration, conversations, mistakes, discoveries, combat, and the choices made along the way. Something that looks terrifying may not be your enemy. Something helpful may have reasons you do not yet understand. A creature's form does not determine its morality, and surviving an encounter does not necessarily mean you understood what happened.Believe what you see. Doubt what it means.Throughout Lethonia, players may encounter strange races and cultures, enormous living structures, corrupted environments, ancient artifacts, creatures altered by forces they barely understand, and remnants of events whose consequences stretch far beyond a single campaign. At the heart of many White Horse stories is Identity.Who are you when the world begins changing you?How much can be taken before you stop being yourself? What happens when survival demands compromise? And if someone does something terrible while their choices are being manipulated, constrained, or stripped away entirely — where does responsibility begin and end?Lethonia does not always answer those questions for you.It gives you somewhere to explore them. The Core era is only the beginning. Future stories move deeper into the history and structure of the universe, revealing places, people, threats, and truths that may completely change the meaning of things encountered much earlier. Some clues are obvious. Some are buried. Some may sit in front of players for years before anyone realizes what they were looking at.That is part of the fun.Lethonia was built to reward curiosity — whether you are sitting around a tabletop with friends, reading one of the books, following the developing lore, or eventually stepping into the universe through projects such as Project Reinsong. There is always another path. There is always another secret. And there is almost certainly something watching you make a very questionable decision.Interested in seeing where the trail leads?Visit www.darkhorsesyndicate.com.If you're curious. If you dare.

Heart of Kaelora CollectionThe Heart of Kaelora Collection is Dark Horse Syndicate’s jewelry line, built around the idea that jewelry can carry more than decoration. It can carry identity, memory, symbolism, and story. The collection takes its name from Kaelora, a figure deeply rooted in the White Horse universe and in my creative work long before Dark Horse Syndicate became a formal company. The symbol associated with the Heart of Kaelora existed years before the current jewelry line, and Kaelora herself has been part of my writing since 2023. As White Horse, Lethonia, and projects such as Shards of Solarium continued to develop, that symbol naturally became something I wanted to bring into the physical world. The goal behind Heart of Kaelora is not to create generic branded jewelry. Each piece is intended to feel like something that could have been discovered, inherited, carried, or protected within the worlds we create.Current and planned designs include pendants, necklaces, gemstone-centered pieces, symbolic jewelry, limited editions, one-of-one creations, and future accessories inspired by the imagery and mythology of White Horse. Some pieces may directly reference characters, relics, locations, or symbols from the universe, while others may simply carry the same visual language without requiring someone to know the lore behind them. One of the earliest major pieces tied to the collection is a one-of-one faceted tanzanite piece, created around the Heart of Kaelora identity and representing the kind of higher-end, singular work I eventually want the collection to include alongside more accessible designs. That balance is important.Heart of Kaelora is meant to have room for both someone who simply finds a pendant beautiful and someone who recognizes exactly what that symbol means inside White Horse. As the collection grows, I want to explore more gemstones, metalwork, custom settings, unusual materials, limited-run designs, and eventually pieces that blur the line between jewelry, prop, collectible, and wearable artifact.Like much of Dark Horse Syndicate, the jewelry line grew out of worldbuilding first.A symbol existed. Then a story formed around it.Then that story became something physical. That progression is at the heart of what the collection is meant to be.Heart of Kaelora is jewelry for people who want to wear something that feels like it came from somewhere.

GENYSYS FashionBefore Dark Horse Syndicate became known for games, publishing, worldbuilding, and interactive design, fashion was the original plan.GENYSYS began from a long-term interest in designing clothing that felt more expressive, more theatrical, and more personal than ordinary apparel. The goal was never simply to put a logo on a shirt. The vision was to eventually learn latex crafting, leatherworking, custom apparel construction, accessories, footwear, and wearable art, and turn those skills into a broader fashion line built around identity, transformation, confidence, and visual storytelling. That original direction eventually grew into several distinct concepts under the GENYSYS umbrella.Current and developing ideas include GENYSYS Originals, statement apparel and one-of-a-kind pieces; Gallop, a more accessible everyday apparel line; Root Fire, built around darker alternative, goth, and punk influences; Siren Tide, a premium latex-focused collection with transformation and fantasy influences; and Ponification!, which explores latex, leather, performance wear, and more theatrical designs. The broader product vision also includes shirts, jerseys, footwear, bags, clutches, accessories, pendants, keychains, custom pieces, and future wearable art.GENYSYS is currently the apparel line receiving active development, including early shirt production and review. Other concepts remain part of the long-term roadmap rather than abandoned ideas. What changed was not the passion for fashion. It was the discovery of another strength. While developing the worlds, themes, characters, and stories that inspired many of these designs, I realized I had a much stronger instinct for game design, worldbuilding, systems, and interactive storytelling than I originally expected. White Horse, Lethonia, and the projects that followed quickly became much larger than side projects. They became the center of what Dark Horse Syndicate was growing into.So fashion did not disappear. It evolved. The same ideas that originally inspired clothing — identity, transformation, presentation, fantasy, rebellion, elegance, and self-expression — now influence the games, characters, worlds, merchandise, and physical products being developed across Dark Horse Syndicate.I still intend to learn leatherworking and latex crafting. I still want to create the more ambitious pieces that GENYSYS was originally designed for. The difference is that fashion is no longer the only destination. It is now one branch of a much larger creative universe.GENYSYS is where that universe started to take shape.

Shards of Solarium and White Horse are built to offer something increasingly rare: games with distinct identities, meaningful choice, and room for different kinds of players to matter. Shards pushes strategy through a world designed to evolve, rebuild, and challenge expectations, while White Horse focuses on identity, consequence, discovery, and a setting that changes the meaning of what players think they understand.Neither game is designed to be a reskin of something familiar. They are meant to feel larger, stranger, more inclusive, and more personal—games where different characters, play styles, perspectives, and decisions genuinely change the experience. They matter because they are being built to give players more than mechanics to master: they give them a world worth remembering.
